While the schedule is flexible, once you are booked that time is for you. Massage therapists don’t receive income unless their clients pay for the time. The time is set aside for you, and is unavailable for others to book in. If you are scheduled for a treatment you are asked to make any changes to that appointment, including cancellations, a minimum of 24 hours in advance.
If you have to change your booking with less than 24 hours notice you will be charged a cancellation fee of $50 (incl. HST).
It is understood that emergencies do come up, and you are asked to not attend your massage if you are not feeling well with a new illness. This goes for your family members as well! If they are sick, and you have to take care of them, that is an emergency. Please cancel as soon as possible, as opposed to waiting it out. The more notice given, even in cases of emergency cancellations, the more likely a spot can be filled with another client. If your appointment is filled you will not be charged for the missed appointment.
Your job and inclement weather are not considered an emergencies. If you are unable to attend for any reason, please make sure that reason is worth the cost of that treatment to you, otherwise please be on time. If you are replaced by another instead you will not be charged for a missed appointment. Send your family member, friend, or neighbour!
If you are late for your session you will be charged for the full booking, and all efforts will be made accommodate your timeline, but there is a schedule that must be adhered to in order to respect my time as well as the other client's. If you do not arrive for your after 30 minutes from the scheduled start of the appointment - this will be considered a "no-show". Your appointment will be cancelled and you will be charged for the full price of the appointment.
As a condition of working with me, all clients agree to the policies below. If you don't support any of my policies, please refrain from scheduling an appointment.
Prior to your first appointment, you will be required to complete a confidential health history form online. This form must be updated once a year or any time there are significant changes to your health history (ex. surgery, major illness).
The information in your file can only be released with your consent or as required by law. In order to best serve you, I may discuss your case with the other healthcare providers involved in your care..
For safety purposes, I reserve the right to refuse or discontinue treatment at any time. Reasons may include, but are not limited to, the following:
If you exhibit any of the aforementioned conditions or behaviours, you'll be denied treatment and charged for the appointment.
The time you have booked is the length of your entire appointment, not the hands-on massage time.
At your first visit, I conduct a thorough intake interview where I cover your health history and your goals. I provide a detailed description of my treatment plan. I obtain verbal and written consent. Orthopedic assessments may be required to provide a safe and effective treatment.
Massage therapy is only one part of recovery or injury prevention. I believe that the client also play a role. I will take time at the end of the treatment to provide home care and remedial exercises.
